Every show requires a permit from the local fire authority. Depending on the firing location the fire authority could be a local fire department, a county fire department, or federal agency (e.g. Bureau of Land Management, US Forestry Service, etc.). Your show producer will be responsible for obtaining the relevant permit for the jurisdiction of the firing location.

In addition to the fire authority permits there could be additional permits or permission required. Firing locations near airports will often need the permission of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Firing locations in protected areas such as parks or recreation areas might need a permit from their respective regulatory agency.

Cost Considerations. The cost of the permit varies on the firing location and time of the year. The cost of the permit will be determined at the time of your proposal.
